German cockroaches are small, light brown roaches with two dark stripes behind the head. They love warm, humid areas near food and water, such as kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry rooms. You may see them scatter when a light flips on or find droppings and egg cases in cabinet hinges and appliance gaps.

They reproduce quickly and can hide in tiny cracks, which is why they are one of the most stubborn indoor pests. Roaches can trigger allergies and spread bacteria across countertops and dishes.
