Scorpions are nocturnal predators with segmented tails and a stinger at the end. They hide in rock walls, under landscaping materials, and in cracks and gaps in and around the home. Inside, you might find them in shoes, tubs, or closets if they sneak through unsealed entry points.

Stings are painful and can be dangerous for young children or anyone with sensitivities. Because they are built to hide, you might only see a few while many more are nearby.
